Tao of the Day

Tao of the Day

Your Daily Dose of Taoism

What Next?

We’ve just finished our first cycle of the Tao. We’ve just covered all 81 chapters of this subtly and intensely beautiful book. This brings up the question “what do we do next?”

We’ve just finished one translation of the text. There are many others. Tomorrow we start with chapter 1 of a different translation. We can easily compare differences and maybe catch some new meanings. Some of the differences are quite shocking; one translation says “keep your doors and windows closed” while another translated the same passage as “keep your mouth shut.” Which is more accurate? I don’t know, but maybe we can learn something from both.

So tune in and pass the word, tomorrow the Tao will once again be reborn!

Additional Info

Tao of the Day is a site for all things related to the Tao (also spelled Dao). We'll cover the entire Tao Te Ching several times each year, with one chapter being the center of attention each day. You can always comment on past days, but let's try to keep it flowing as the days progress.
