Chapter Sixty-Six

Why are the seas and rivers the biggest among all waters?

Because they are located on the lowest places

Therefore they are the biggest

So one who is wise among fools must be the least

And therefore he is the greatest

But fools won’t consider him as a threat

They just don’t understand him and take no notice of him

Because he doesn’t fight and argue with anybody, he is indisputable

I can’t say that I agree with this entry. While the argument could be made that knowledge and wisdom are not congruent, Buddhism promotes the seeking of truth. Science is exploration of what on the surface appears to be myth and commonplace. And it is by that vehicle that we are delivered the factual components of explaining these items… rendering truth and fact. Thank you. –peace SeekingCenter

Tao of the Day is a site for all things related to the Tao (also spelled Dao). We'll cover the entire Tao Te Ching several times each year, with one chapter being the center of attention each day. You can always comment on past days, but let's try to keep it flowing as the days progress.
